Welcome to Rootsquad !
I am obsessed with all things genealogy. I love learning, and sharing what I learn with others. I hope it can help you in some way in your own family history journey.
This is Rootsquad, a genea community where we support each other, give shout-outs to new resources and techniques that further our research and help one another write the stories, research reports and posts that will preserve our ancestor’s legacies for all time.
I hope to encourage you, as part of my Rootsquad, to participate in genealogy challenges and other fun content, where the point is to find more stories and round up more ancestors.
My favorite word is “free”, so I’ll be sharing all kinds of tips about where and how to use free genealogy resources. And this newsletter will always be free.

What Else Am I Doing?
I’m glad you asked! :)
This publication has some different sections; you can subscribe or unsubscribe to them individually, based on your interests. The other sections are “Three Favorite Free…”, “News o’ the Day” and “Heritage Recipe Adventures”, and “Ship Brooklyn”. As other interests pop up, I may add more sections. Subscribing or unsubscribing to any of the sections will not keep you from getting my main Rootsquad Roundup email newsletter when I post it.
I have other projects in the works:
Creating an organization and newsletter for the “Ship Brooklyn Association”.
One-place studies for Dolores, Colorado, Lehi, Utah, Tatum, New Mexico and Tomball, Texas.
One-name studies for my Granath and Ogle surnames.
Creating version 2 of my family cookbook, as publishing those as I go.
Any other ideas? Drop them in the comments below!

If you choose to, most writers (myself included) will have a donate section, for you to show your support of the work we are doing to help, enlighten and amuse you.
Please drop me a comment below and say hi. What, when and where are you researching right now? What’s your favorite ancestor story? What’s your greatest genealogy find?
